WPA Process

In November 2022, the Main Health and Safety Committee (HAMiU) decided to change the WPA concept so that the periodic WPA process will now occur every two years, rather than annually. This introduces a two-year cycle, where a simultaneous WPA process is conducted across all AAU units every spring in even-numbered years. The spring process culminates in the creation of action plans, which the units implement and follow up on until the start of the next two-year cycle.

Institutes and departments can also choose to conduct additional, possibly more focused, WPA processes as needed during this period. This may be triggered by factors such as relocations, organizational changes, the implementation of new work methods, or other significant changes expected to impact the work environment.

In addition to the two-year cycle, work environment discussions must be held annually in all institutes and departments.

Although the WPA concept is now based on a two-year cycle instead of a one-year cycle, the core concept remains unchanged. It still consists of periodic work environment activities - activities governed by specific deadlines- and situational work environment activities, which are conducted based on local needs within each institute or department.
